T.O.S.

Towards a Union of Those Who Love in the Service of All That Suffers

The Theosophical Order of Service (TOS) is a worldwide organization committed to improving the material and spiritual condition of humanity. It also has a compassionate and constructive approach in dealings with animals and the environment. Formed by Annie Besant in 1908, the TOS is associated with the Theosophical Society. It provides opportunities for members of the Society and others to help reduce suffering and injustice by offering a framework within which the individual may demonstrate practical and humanitarian action in a Theosophical spirit.

TOS Object

The main object of the Theosophical Order of Service is to help bring about the first object of the Theosophical Society:

“To form a nucleus of the Universal Brotherhood of Humanity without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste or colour”

The TOS extends this concept of Brotherhood to embrace all life and all kingdoms of nature. It focuses on various forms of service in order to put into practice the ideals taught in Theosophy.

The TOS is Theosophy in Action.
